In the wake of the pull out of F1 by BMW the car manufacturer has officially announced it will continue its support of the Formula BMW Pacific and European Championships. The Pacific Series scholarship trials go ahead as planned at the Sepang Circuit on September 1-2. Two winners will receive a Euro50,000 scholarship from BMW towards their 2010 Formula BMW Pacific campaign.

Driver release: Harare’s Axcil Jefferies might only be 15-years old, yet he has achieved great things in his first year of international motorsport which is why Air Zimbabwe recently announced a sponsorship partnership with the young Harare scholar.
Competing in the highly competitive Formula BMW Pacific championship with the top flight Eurasia team, he has notched up two wins already to become Zimbabwe’s latest sporting ambassador.

While Zimbabwe’s 15 year old Formula BMW racing ace, Axcil Jefferies has unlocked his talent with the support of his prime sponsor; Pioneer Corporation Africa, he is aware of the social responsibility role that his career enables him to accomplish as a recognised sporting icon. In this regard Axcil is now an official Childline Zimbabwe ambassador and shall race to glory with the Childline logo gracing his vehicle. Axcil is upbeat about the work he can do in this socially uplifting capacity. He has recently travelled with the Childline team to Bindura, where he had the chance to inspire young children from less privileged backgrounds as part of Childline’s outreach program.

Eurasia Motorsport has its third car, driven by Antonio Martinez in the last F.BMW Pacific event at Sepang, available for the Sentul event to be held at the Sentul Circuit in Indonesia on July 16-19. Antonio Martinez joined Eurasia Motorsport for rounds 3-6 of the Formula BMW Pacific Series with a view to adding to his experience and to help him improve for his European F.BMW campaign. A happy Martinez increased his race mileage four fold and racked up as many kilometers as he would have done in four European events!
